Principal Engineer, Intel Corporation

John Sweetser is currently a Principal Engineer within the Intel® RealSense™ Group developing and supporting stereo depth camera products. He has been at Intel Corporation over ten years with the Intel® RealSense™ group working on novel human-computer interface technologies. He was co-founder of ThinkOptics, inventor and manufacturer of vision-based pointing and tracking devices (technology licensed to Nintendo) and technical staff member at Templex Technology (acquired by Intel) developing integrated optics-based high-speed communication devices. He previously worked in R&D at Sandia National Labs and University of Rochester in ultrafast laser development, ultra-short pulse measurement techniques, and spectroscopy. He has BS (Applied & Engineering Physics) and MEng (EE) degrees from Cornell University and a PhD from the University of Rochester’s Institute of Optics and over 30 issued patents and 25 peer-reviewed technical publications.
